After graduating from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a degree (BSc (Hons), Mathematics) in 2012, Vic started his career as a Hong Kong Math tutor, boarding school Math tutor and Hong Kong online Math tutor. He has helped the students not only improve their Math exam results, but also often enables them to reach their potential and prove their academic excellence. As an experienced Hong Kong Math tutor, Vic is also familiar with teaching boarding school Math and teaching Math online. Over the past years, many of his students have successfully entered famous schools and universities around the world, such as Benenden School, Tonbridge School, Sevenoaks School, the University of Hong Kong, Princeton University and Stanford University.
Vic has worked closely with overseas admission consultants for years, which makes him very familiar with the curricula and exam systems in the US and UK. He is particularly familiar with the key features of the SSAT, Ukiset, Common Entrance Exams, IB, IGCSE, SAT, ACT and AP. Vic is not only experienced in Math tutoring in Hong Kong, but also able and willing to keep track of the latest changes of each syllabus for the students. So, he can guide his students to put their effort in the right place in different exams effectively. There have been numerous students of Vic getting excellent results (i.e. 7 or A) in the public exams, which have helped them enter their favorite boarding schools or universities.
When Vic was a student, he achieved a grade A in Math and Additional Math respectively in HKCEE. He also won the Gold Award (Champion) of the 2008 Hang Lung Mathematics Awards, which is still the most famous mathematics research competition in Hong Kong. Based on Vic’s academic achievement and tutoring experience as a Hong Kong Math Tutor, he believes that cultivating students’ interest towards mathematics and understanding the basics and concepts clearly are much more important than memorising formulas, premature drilling or excessive training.
Vic is able to teach a wide range of UK and US curricula for different age group students.
